Recently, I was going through my Team Colt files and discovered that there are already EIGHT stories in this series! How did that happen??
Official reading order
.025 - Striker's Stand (A short story that takes place about 12 years prior to Out of Options, featuring a future side character.)
.05 - Hellcat One-One (A "slice of life" short story of Colt and Hawk when they were still active Navy.)
0 - Out of Options (A prequel novella that sets the stage for the rest of the series)
1 - Cross Winds
1. 5 - Santa's Hat (A Christmas short story)
2 - Angel's Zero
2.5 - Straight Flight (A high-octane short story)
3 - Strike Out
4 - Crash Course (Draft)
Have you read all of them? Which was your favorite?

On this last day of my week of gratitude, I want to thank the amazing people who encouraged me to keep writing.
First of all, I want to thank my publisher, Nick Thacker. You took a chance on these books, and it's an honor to be part of Conundrum Publishing.
Marc Cameron is one of the biggest names in the thriller world at the moment - and perhaps the nicest. He took the time to speak to me last year, and again this year, and both times were so incredibly encouraging.
The Word Race Crew is a group of writers in a Facebook chat. We have mini competitions each month that involve a lot of fake trash talk while supporting each other in all aspects of writing and publishing.
And I can't forget you - the reader. Without readers, my books would languish on the metaphorical shelf. Knowing people love reading about Colt and the others helps motivate me to keep writing.
To each of these incredible people: Thank you. I appreciate it more than I can put into words.

It's Thanksgiving Day, which means it's time to thank some of the people who helped make Strike Out the absolute best it could be.
A core part of ensuring a book is ready for readers' hands is editing. Rebecca Dedischew has edited all of my stories; her analytical brain can pick apart the sneakiest inconsistency - and she makes me fix every single one of them. We've been friends for years, and I know I can trust her judgment.
Nicole Schroeder @nicole.a.schroeder was my friend long before she became my editor, but when she started taking clients, I knew I wanted to work with her! Her keen eye for detail and adoration of style guides make her the best. (Literally the best - my ARC team found a total of TEN typos in Strike out. Ten errors in a manuscript of over 100,000 words. That's incredible.)
Every Friday, I meet with a small group of ladies who also write thrillers. Together we bounce ideas off each other, challenge each other to pursue the craft of writing, and beta read for each other. Without their support, this book would still be a mangled mess of notecards.
Thank you to these amazing friends. "Higher, further, faster."

Continuing with my week of gratitude with the amazing experts who helped me with technical details for Strike Out.
A lot can be learned via the School of Google, but sometimes you need to just ask an expert. And I'm so grateful for these three being willing to answer my questions.
M. L. Buchman @mlbuchman is a fellow aviation fiction author. He was key in helping me get the communication between Colt and air traffic control accurate, along with other flight details.
Tara Maraket put her medical expertise to work in a fantastic brainstorming ways to make the medical aspects correct.
Adam Richardson @writersdetective runs the Writer's Detective Bureau and invited people to join him for an evening of chatting at 20BooksVegas. During the course of the evening, he helped me plot out a pivotal part of the first act of Strike Out.
To these three incredible people, thank you so much for your help and your willingness to chat to me about my story. Without your input, Strike Out would never have worked.

Day two of my week of gratitude posts.
Today I want to thank my writing friend Tom Foot @tommypied and his uncle Adrian Praetzellis for their incredible help with Jewish traditions and customs.
I try to write every character with respect, and learning more about my characters teaches me about the people around me. I really appreciate Tom and Adrian answering all my questions!
Jethro Caplan is one of my favorite side characters, and I hope I've done him justice.

In honor of American Thanksgiving, I wanted to say thank you to the many people who helped me while writing Strike Out.
It's impossible to write a book completely by oneself. And for me, to make it the best I can, that involves asking for experts or people with experience for help.
One of my biggest challenges in writing Strike Out was writing from the POV of a character with a double below-the-knee amputation.
My initial research started by reading as much as I could online; and then I started watching videos on social media by @footlessjo, @annikatheamputee, and @amputay_. They are incredibly generous creators who share aspects of their lives as amputees.
Via Disability Book Week, I found Rosalie Mastaler @mastalerpartyof5 who so kindly answered all my questions and was so supportive.
And the biggest thanks go to Jeffrey Mangus @jeffreymangus_author who took the time to read through all the scenes from Mitch's POV and give feedback on what I had written. I appreciate your time so much.
To all of these amazing people, you have my unending gratitude. Without you, Mitch's story would be much more superficial.

If Glitch has a dossier on Colt, you can bet your bottom crypto, he’s got one on Hawk too.
Did you know Hawk has five sisters? No wonder he knows how to put up with Colt
